Medium: watercolour

Subjects: landscapes, seascapes & people

Lezlie is from Molega Lake, Lunenburg County and is a proud descendant of one of the original Foreign Protestants who settled in Lunenburg. She is a self-taught watercolour artist who approaches her subject matter in a nostalgic way. Her paintings are representational (realistic) and are designed in an orderly simplified manner. Her paintings come from the inspiration she gets from nature and life around her. She uses professional materials to create her transparent watercolours and framing is chosen to compliment the character of the painting. Her works have found homes across Canada, the USA, Bermuda and Europe.

"I like the transparency and the freshness nature of watercolours. Watercolour is a gentle medium and I think my paintings reveal that inner, personal feeling."
